ABOUT US
The Central Coast Dharma Center (CCDC) is lead by Chaplain L.L. Palmer. "Chaplain Linda" is the Captain of Training & Development for the California Practical Chaplain Association (CPCA) and certified by the Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation in Crisis Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) and Workplace Homeostasis (c). She is the Lay Leader for the RKINA California Central Coast Branch and one of the facilitators for their Online Sangha.
CCDC is a place of practice for many Buddhist Traditions in the "One Dharma" tradition. We honor the value of all traditions and attempt to learn whatever we can from the approach of each one. The CCDC is grounded in the Mahayana tradition of Rissho Kosei-kai International of North America (RKINA) and is the home of RKINA's California Central Coast Branch. The CCDC also hosts many formally-affiliated as well as lay Buddhist groups. We are a place to study and practice to learn how to make Buddhism a part of our lives.
We offer both minister and peer (lay) led services. Classes for meditation and other Buddhist studies are taught by certified teachers as well as community members. We also periodically invite teachers from various Buddhist as well as other faith traditions to lead services and retreats. Our certified Chaplaincy classes are provided through the CPCA and OCISD.
